One thing I won’t tolerate ...

... is using your age as an excuse.

In my opinion it's one of the biggest cop-outs & a massive waste of human potential.  I turn 35 this year & I’m in better shape than I was in my 20's ... actually than I ever have been. And I only intend to keep building on this.

Before I started to exercise regularly (aged 26, no lie!) and to look after my nutrition & other lifestyle factors…

I felt crap in my own skin. I had very little self confidence. I was unfit. Lethargic. Tired all the time.

Do you know what I did? How I changed that? How I got to where I am now?

I started where I was. (Guess what? You can only ever start where you are! So you might as well just START.)

And I just kept going. And I haven’t stopped. And I won’t ever stop.

And that’s the thing: Once you truly take responsibility and control of your life, And you realize just how much power & potential you have ….

ITS MAD FUCKING EXCITING.

BECAUSE YOUR POTENTIAL FOR WHAT YOU CAN DO, WHO YOU CAN BE, IS NEVERENDING.

“We’re not getting any younger…

But we absolutely CAN get better”

- L Murray

(Yep I just quoted myself in my own blog & I'm not even sorry  - hang tight for the second one incoming, it’s a golden nugget…)

But I’m not just talking about “getting better” physically or aesthetically…

I’m talking about

CONFIDENCE.
STRENGTH
MENTAL WELLBEING
AGILITY & MOBILITY
RESILIENCE
SELF BELIEF...

And yes, of course it's a nice by-product that any body that's treated right generally happens to look shit-hot, too.

Think it's too late to start?

"What's the point?"

I first stepped foot in a gym at age 26.

(I wasn't always fit or in good shape. And it's not genetics or luck.)

I’ve coached women in their 60s to deadlift.
(ABOVE BOTH THEIR AGE AND BODYWEIGHT, shout-out to Breda!)

AND to hip thrust above 100kg!
(shout-out to Carol, hitting above her goal of 100kg hip thrust for reps by her 60TH birthday last December!!)

I URGE you, to harness your own power + potential,
and to USE IT, via exercising discipline, self compassion,
giving yourself your best effort, developing mental resilience…

WHATEVER YOUR AGE!

These are all SKILLS, and as with any skill they can only be developed & honed by getting outside of your current comfort zone.

The POINT is:

No matter how good you are or how inexperienced you are, how fit or unfit, how knowledgeable in your field or not, YOU CAN ALWAYS GET BETTER. YOU CAN ALWAYS IMPROVE.
And that's a privilege and a power. Don't bloody waste it!

"Getting older is inevitable, getting better is a choice!"  L Murray

(This one is actually an expansion on a quote by  quote by Dr. Christiane Northrup, M.D.: “Getting older is inevitable, aging is optional”.)

No more using your age as an excuse.

Use it as your REASON.

You GET to choose what mindset you approach getting older with, & what actions you take (or don't).

And getting older is a PRIVILEGE.

If you need my help taking action to improve your health, fitness, mindset, strength and confidence (whatever your age!) just ask.

(You won’t fail with me.)
