The BEST thing to EAT in the morning …

The BEST thing to EAT in the morning for a successful day...

I have previously given you a technique that’s really useful for getting the hard but meaningful stuff DONE.
(Check out my “How to Make Better Progress” blog post if you haven’t already!)

BUT, if you’re still struggling to do the hard things, or even the not so hard but tedious or boring things…

Here’s a simple Procrastination Cheat Sheet you can save & use to help you get shit done!

  1. 𝗕𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗸 𝗜𝘁 𝗗𝗼𝘄𝗻:
Don't focus on the whole project or the end goal.
Just focus on the next small action you need to take.⁣

  2. 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟮-𝗠𝗶𝗻𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲:
Struggling to start? Only work on it for 2 minutes.
This will get you over that initial hump, often that's all it takes.

  3. 𝗘𝗮𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗙𝗿𝗼𝗴:
Before anything else - do the task you're procrastinating on, and don't move on until it's done.⁣

  4. 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗮 𝗧𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿:
Simple but incredibly powerful. Seeing the time tick away sets a strong intention in your brain to start working.⁣

  5. 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗶𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗮 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗱𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲:
Nothing makes sh*t happen like a deadline. If you have 5 hours to clean your house, it'll take 5 hours. If you set a 40minute window, you'll surprise yourself with what you get done! Set one for yourself and stick to it. ⁣

ALSO HELPFUL:
Stop beating yourself up and labeling yourself “lazy” or a "failure" for procrastinating.
It’s much more complex than that! ⁣

More than often than not when we keep putting off a task it's due to perfectionism and fear of failure (or success!) — which is completely normal.

PS: I know you may have been expecting some wild magical nutritional breakfast advice but EATING THE FROG will help you every single day for the rest of your life.

TRUST ME!!!

PPS: The phrase “Eat The Frog” was inspired by the iconic quote of the American writer Mark Twain: “Eat a live frog first thing in the morning, and nothing worse will happen to you the rest of the day!"

To put it simply, eating the frog is the process of identifying your most difficult task of the day (the FROG) and completing it before you do any other work (EATING IT!).

Let me know if you try it!

Laura

Disclaimer: No live frogs were consumed or harmed in the testing of this technique.

Also: SHARING IS CARING: if you know someone who might find this useful... pass it on!!!
